Welcome, and maayong adlaw! This is the field manual for iPBL 2026, the International Project-Based Learning programme: everything needed to build the machine the rest of the programme is built upon, a four-legged, twelve-servo robot driven by an Arduino Nano and a custom PCB.
This manual walks you through every screw, every solder joint, every line of firmware, from a box of parts to a robot that stands and crawls. That is only half of what iPBL asks of you; giving the robot a brain and a pair of eyes comes next, in Cebu.
This manual is deliberately narrow in scope. Its purpose is a working understanding of the machine underneath the programme, nothing more. Assemble the body, solder the PCB, mount and calibrate the servos, set the rocker arms, and bring the unit to a working crawl: that is the entire brief, from parts to a robot that stands, blinks, and awaits instructions. Giving that robot a brain and a pair of eyes, a Raspberry Pi, a NoIR camera, and a proximity sensor, along with the collaborative brief itself, belongs to the in-person programme. It remains withheld here by design.
Eight sections, one robot that stands and walks, ready for what Cebu adds. Begin at the beginning, and do not skip ahead; every section assumes the one before it.
